Gladys Bender is a certified ASIST trainer.
Having spent a great deal of her career in the mental health profession, and as a nurse, Gladys brings a great deal of her lived experience to her trainings. Always quick to listen, encourage, and offer support, Gladys knows how to create a safe environment to foster conversation around a heavy topic like suicide.
Gladys’ work in the health care, social services, and faith communities has exposed her to a wide variety of life experiences. She is a well rounded trainer who cares deeply about her participant’s experiences.
As a weekly Bruce trail hiker nature is core to what helps Gladys connect to the earth, herself, and others.
