TAPROOT: A starting point for handling what’s building up
TapRoot is a short, self-guided tool designed to help producers slow things down, sort through what’s building up, and take a next step that actually fits.
It’s not therapy, and it’s not a crisis line.
It helps you:
- Notice what’s piling up
- Identify what actually helps
- Take small, practical steps forward
Like any good system on the farm, it’s about catching things early — not waiting until something breaks.
TOOLS YOU CAN USE RIGHT NOW
Ag Care Connect includes a growing set of practical tools you can use on your own time:
- Quick Check-In (2 minutes) — a fast way to gauge where you’re at
- TapRoot — work through what’s building up
- Protective Planning Tool (PPT) — plan ahead to stay safe if things get heavier
- Take Stock — focus on what’s working and what’s steady
- Conversation Starters — simple ways to start real conversations
- Talking Across Generations — navigate tough family and farm conversations
- Support for Someone Else — what to say and how to show up
All tools are available in English and French. Audio guidance is available so you can listen instead of read.
WHY THIS MATTERS IN AGRICULTURE

We’re working directly with producers across Canada to test the tools and make sure they actually fit real agricultural life.
