Brittni Darras was a 24 year old teacher who received a phone call on a Sunday letting her know one of her students had died by suicide.
Changing her thinking around how to engage with her students, taking notice, paying their attributes attention, Brittni is setting a new standard for how to engage with students, and how to help prevent suicide by starting a conversation in the classroom.
If you’d like to learn the skills to help those 15 years of age and older who may be at risk of suicide consider taking the world renowned, evidence-based safeTALK and ASIST workshops. It can strongly be argued that the best way to reduce teen suicide is by starting the conversation earlier. And anyone can learn those skills.
We hope you will join the conversation. We’d love to hear how you’re impacting kids in your life by noticing them, creating safe spaces for open dialogue, and working with others to build resiliency and enhance safety.
